Sunday afternoon, June 25.2017, the German Cultural Association of Alberta (GCAA) celebrated its 50th anniversary at the German Association Cultural Center at 8310 Roper Road, Edmonton.


The GCAA is an umbrella association of 29 Alberta organizations which promote and maintain German culture in Alberta. 


Annemarie Juravel, current president, addressed the gathering with a brief history and list of achievements of the GCAA over the past 50 years.  After which Heinz Kleist presided over a program of performers (including Liederkranz Männerchor) who performed for the attendees.  Followed by ‘Kafe und Kuchen’.


Numerous past presidents of the GCAA attended along with other dignitaries including Horst Schmidt, past MLA and long-standing supporter of GCAA and all German Cultural Organizations in Alberta.
