Willi Visits Edmonton

‘Schnurrbart’  Willi Sölla and his wife, Brigitte paid a visit to Männerchor Liederkranz in Edmonton in mid July.  They were travelling in a motor home (RV), which they rented in eastern Canada and travelled across the country taking in all the great Canadian sights and cities.

In Edmonton, they were hosted by Horst Fleischhaur & Elaine Monk at their home in Sherwood Park.  During their stay the choir gathered at Horst & Elaine’s to party, visit and sing a few classical German songs with Willi u Frau.

Willi is an occasional member of Liederkranz.  A number of years ago Willie and Brigitte were stationed in Edmonton working for Shell Oil.  Looking for something German in Edmonton, Willi found our Männerchor and sang with us for over one year.  Willie, since returning to Germany has stayed in touch with the choir.   He travelled and sang with us on our trip to Germany in September 2014.

After their stay in Edmonton, Willie & Brigitte, are travelling through the Rockies on their way to Vancouver and the west coast.  From Vancouver they will travel south along the west coast all the way to San Diego, then eastward backtaking Route 66 across theUSA.  Once they reach the east coast they will give up the RV and fly back to their home near Köln, Germany.

The choir looks forward to have Willi aboard at the next opportunity.
